Crockpot paleo chili

If you don’t have a crockpot, go get one- now! It is so amazing to come home to a cooked meal and a great smelling house. This recipe can be done without a crockpot, but I wanted to have food ready when I got home. I have a version of this I’ll have to post that is done on the stove. Anyway, I did some research (google how to do what I wanted to do) and came up with this little treasure. It’s based on my husbands friends recipe. So thank you Luciana!


1 pound ground pork
1 small yellow onion
1 bell pepper
2 medium sweet potatoes
1 – 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon (1 oz) tomato paste
2 1/2 cups beef stock
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon granulated garlic (or garlic powder)
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon salt
Pepper to taste
1 tablespoon hot sauce (I use Tapitio)
2 tablespoons lime juice (about 2 limes)


Chop onions and bell pepper
Peel and dice sweet potatoes small
Heat a large skillet over medium heat, add meat, season with salt and pepper to taste and brown meat
Throw your seasoned browned meat in with the onions, bell pepper and sweet potatoes into the crockpot
Next, add your crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef stock, and all spices except hot sauce and lime juice and stir well
Cook on low for 8 hours
Add hot sauce and lime juice and stir well
Eat your heart out!
